Overview
The University is advertising one Fellowship in the area of climate science to be held either in the Department of Earth Sciences or in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The Fellowship will provide an opportunity for independent research, although the holder will usually work in close collaboration with established research groups.
Applications are invited in the field of climate science related to the application of physical or mathematical models to interpret paleo-ocean processes and measurements. The Fellowship will be held in either the Department of Earth Sciences or the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics with an expectation that the person appointed will contribute to and benefit from research activities in both Departments.
Applications are invited from people who have completed their PhD Degree or equivalent within the last three years at any university, but normally excluding Cambridge and Harvard. Tenure is for between two and three years within the stipend range £27,319 to £35,646 per annum with £10,000 p.a. as research allowance.
Further details and an application pack are downloadable from:
http://www.herchelsmith.cam.ac.uk/fellowships/postdoctoral-fellowship-in-climate-research-1-post
Scientific enquiries may be made to the Head of either Department, Professor James Jackson (jackson@esc.cam.ac.uk) or Professor Peter Haynes (phh@damtp.cam.ac.uk).
This replaces the previous advertisement for this particular Fellowship (AK07236) in order to accommodate a later closing date.
