Overview
The Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities (IPRH) and the Illinois Informatics Institute (I3) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seek to fill a one-year post-doctoral position in informatics (with an emphasis on digital humanities) for the 2011-12 academic year.
The jointly-appointed Post-Doctoral Fellow/Visiting Assistant Professor will undertake, publish, and present research; teach one course in the appropriate humanities department on a relevant topic to be negotiated; and collaborate with others on the University of Illinois campus to strengthen informatics engagement in the humanities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* A Ph.D., completed between August 16, 2006 and June 30, 2011
* Demonstrated engagement with informatics in the research and teaching of a humanities discipline
* Residence within the Champaign-Urbana area during the term of the post-doctoral appointment
The fellowship comes with a stipend of $45,000 for the year, a $2,000 research account, project development support, relocation reimbursement up to $1,500, and a generous benefits package.
