MUNDUS ACP Project Scholarships

Overview

The MUNDUS ACP project is a partnership of European and ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) Higher Education Institutions. This project is financed by the European Commission through the “Erasmus Mundus Programme Action 2”, one of the EU’s cooperation programmes with third countries.

Financed by the European Commission and coordinated by the University of Porto, this Project's main goal is to enhance the cooperation in the area of Higher Education between the European Union and the ACP Countries, by supporting Master and Doctorate students mobility (from the ACP Countries to Europe) as well as Teaching and Administrative Staff mobility (in both directions).

As additional support to the implementation of the mobility period, this project includes the payment of a monthly scholarship (between 1000 and 2500 EUR, according to the type of mobility), a return ticket and a health, accident and travel insurance. The project also includes the payment of tuition fees to the host institution (when applicable).

The main objectives of this initiative are:

• To promote the mobility of academic and administrative staff from Europe to the ACP Countries enabling valuable linguistic, cultural and educational experiences;
• To enhance the international cooperation capacity between Higher Education Institutions in Europe and in the ACP Countries, helping to foster the socio-economical development of the region;
• To promote transparency and recognition of studies and grades at international level.
