College of Europe Master Scholarship in Turkey

Overview

The Secretariat General for EU Affairs (EUSG) invites students with high academic standing and interest in the European Union to apply to the College of Europe and “The College of Europe Scholarship Program” for the academic year 2011-2012. The Scholarship Programme, which aims to train qualified EU experts and future Turkish Eurocrats within the context of Turkish accession process to the European Union, was initiated under the auspices of Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Egemen Bağış in 2009.

With the coordination of the EUSG and thanks to our sponsor companies and organisations as well as the College of Europe, last year 12 scholarships were provided for Turkish students for a Master’s Degree in this prestigious school both in Brugge and Natolin. The number of scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year will be announced in due course in line with the provision of scholarships to be offered by the sponsor companies.

Students who receive scholarships will be able to attend one of the master programs (European Interdisciplinary Studies, EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, European Political and Administrative Studies, European Economic Studies, European Law) of the College of Europe (Natolin or Brugge campus) for the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarship covers fees as well as lodging, meals, registration, tuition, examinations and study trips during the program.

The application requirements are presented below. The deadline for the application is 28 February 2011. It is important to note that the applications must be submitted to the College of Europe Admissions Office and to Türkiye-Avrupa Vakfi (the Turkish national selection committee contact institution) for admission as well as to the Secretariat General for EU Affairs (EUSG) for the scholarship. The College of Europe Turkey Selection Committee will hold interviews with candidates shortlisted by the College around April 2011. Time and place of the interviews for scholarship will be conveyed to shortlisted candidates.

No application will be accepted after 28 February 2011.
