· You perform molecular and cell biological research towards obtaining a PhD on the topic of the regulation of cell expansion during the development of Arabidopsis leaves. The project is conducted within the experimental research group “Plant Growth and Development” (webh01.ua.ac.be/fymo).
· You participate in the teaching and research support within the department of Biology. This entails limited involvement in the practical courses and the guidance of BSc and MSc projects.
· You apply for external funding in the context of this research project.
Profile:
· Candidates need to have completed a Master studies in Biology, Bio-engineering or Biochemistry, with a specialization in cell or molecular biology and have experience with plant research.
· A good understanding of mathematics and informatics is an advantage.
· Your teaching and research qualities are in line with the requirements of the University of Antwerp
· You are prepared to conduct your work in the context of a multidisciplinary team.
We offer:
· A PhD fellowship for a period of 1 year, renewable for a period of 3 year upon favorable evaluation
· Starting date: preferentially October 1st, 2011
