Overview
A Full Scholarship is available within the Department of Psychology at the University of Essex. The department conducts internationally leading research in a range of areas. Our particular strengths lie in Social and Health Psychology, Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive and Sensory Neuroscience. The Department has a strong research reputation and was ranked in the top 20 out of more than 100 departments in the country in the 2008 national assessment. Over half of our research was rated as 4* (world leading) or 3* (internationally excellent). The University of Essex was ranked ninth out of 159 universities and colleges for the quality of its research. The Department has excellent facilities and is located in purpose built buildings in a friendly campus environment.
A Full Scholarship is now available, that provides support for a three-year programme of supervised research leading to a PhD. The scholarship will cover tuition fees for three years, plus a maintenance stipend of £13,590 per annum. The scholarship will commence in October, 2011 for a period of 36 months. To be eligible to apply for this full scholarship candidates must be classified for fees purposes as a Home (UK) student and be a UK National or have Settled Status in the UK, and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the past three years.
