Agri-food & Agri-environmental Economics Group, Institute for Environmental Decisions (IED), ETH Zurich The Agri-food & Agri-environmental Economics Group of ETH Zurich (www.afee.ethz.ch) invites applications for a PhD position.
The successful candidate will conduct research on economic and environmental performance in Swiss agriculture. The PhD-study will be completed within a project founded by Swiss National Science Foundation. The objective of the project is to elaborate a methodological framework allowing joint measurement of economic and environmental efficiency of agricultural enterprises. Therefore, the directional distance function approach shall be applied and further developed. The project will be implemented by employing the Swiss FADN as well as farm survey data.
The basic requirements are:
• A master degree in Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics or Economics;
• Strong background in quantitative methods of empirical research;
• Programming skills;
• Good command of spoken and written English;
As the PhD-candidate has to implement the farm survey in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, knowledge of German is an important prerequisite.
