USA: For Madagascar - Fulbright Science and Technology Award for Outstanding Foreign Students

Overview

The American Embassy is pleased to announce the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for outstanding foreign students for PhD study at top U.S. institutions in science, technology, or engineering. Candidates selected will be funded for a maximum of three years. After three years, U.S. universities will be expected to cover the remaining expenses toward completion of a PhD. Approximately 45 awards will be competed worldwide for candidates who demonstrate unique aptitude and innovation in scientific fields

Eligible fields include :

Aeronautics and Astronomic/Aeronautical Engineering, Agriculture, Astronomy/Planetary Sciences, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Sciences/Engineering, Energy, Engineering (electrical, chemical, civil, mechanical, ocean, and petroleum), Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology/Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Information Sciences and Systems/Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Neurosciences, Oceanography, Public Health, and Physics.


Eligible Candidates

To be eligible to the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for outstanding foreign students, applicants must:

* Be a citizen of and currently residing in Madagascar or in The Union of the Comoros;
* Have at least a DEA or an equivalent of an official six-year university degree, or the equivalent of a U.S. Master’s degree in the field of specialization;
* Have a high level of English proficiency to realistically accomplish full-time doctoral level study in the U.S.
* Have outstanding academic records, references and preparation in the chosen field
* Have high motivation and serious commitment to completing the program and to returning home to Madagascar.
