Overview
A two-year post doc position within pervasive/ubiquitous computing and pervasive healthcare is available at the IT University of Copenhagen (ITU).
The position is associated with the MONARCA project. The goals of the MONARCA project are to develop and validate solutions for multi-parametric, long term monitoring of behavioral and physiological information relevant to bipolar disorder. It will combine those solutions with an appropriate platform and a set of services into a system for management, treatment, and self-treatment of the disease.
The main focus for the post doc is to solicit requirements for the system and to engage in a user-centered design process of the system including its functional architecture and user interfaces. This will be used as a reference model for the specification development and validation of the final MONARCA system. The methodology employed will be user-centered design, including user studies, design, prototyping, system implementation, and user evaluation. Focus is on all users of the system, including patients, relatives, caretakers, clinicians, and medical staff.
The position requires a strong research background in user-centered design methodologies as well as skills for implementation of the design on mobile technologies like smart phones. Scientifically, the position requires a strong background in human-computer interaction (HCI), computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), ubiquitous computing, and/or software engineering.
MONARCA is an EU-funded STREP project. The candidate will help manage the project with respect to the work done by ITU, which entails close cooperation with the other partners in the project. In addition, 1-2 PhD students will be associated with the project at ITU, and the candidate should be part of supervising these students.
