The James Martin 21st Century School was founded in 2005 to facilitate and energise interdisciplinary research into the key risks and opportunities of the 21st century. The School currently comprises 15 Institutes, with more projects joining the School as part of the James Martin 21st Century Challenge - a unique matched funding scheme initiated by the School's founder. As the School's research base expands, there is an exciting and unparalleled opportunity to consider wider issues arising from the School's programmes. In particular, the School has identified the management of global problems, the nature of systemic risk and the interface between the frontiers of technology and society as strategic research priorities.
We are seeking a leading scholar or practitioner of international reputation to complement and deepen the School's existing research portfolio by being resident at the School for a period from six months to two years. During that period the Senior Visiting Fellow will provide academic leadership into one (or more) of the three identified strategic themes and, through their own research, drive the School's interdisciplinary agenda forward.
We would particularly welcome applications from those employed by other institutions and who would require only expenses. However, salary support may be available and the details of this would be discussed with the successful candidate.
Full details of the application process are available at www.21school.ox.ac.uk/vacancies or by emailing the Administrator: laura.lauer@21school.ox.ac.uk
The deadline is 31 October 2009.
Please quote reference LC09-001 in all correspondence.
Committed to equality and valuing diversity
Please kindly mention Scholarization.blogspot.com when applying for this scholarship
