The Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida is seeking an Instructional Postdoctoral Scholar.
The successful candidate will have research interests in anthropological approaches to communities (past or present). More specific research themes of relevance include community-related health, development, and sustainability, as well as the intersection of these topics with issues of social justice, ethnicity, race, and class. We are especially interested in applicants with the ability to teach one or more of the following graduate-level courses: quantitative methods, archaeological research methods, ethnohistorical research methods, ethnographic and applied research methods.
The ability to teach courses training graduate students in other innovative methods is a plus, as is the ability to incorporate service learning and community engagement. The position will start August 2010 and extend through May 2012.

Eligible Candidate
Applicants must have the doctorate in hand by time of appointment, with the Ph.D. awarded no earlier than 2007 and no later than January, 2010. Preference will be granted for the Ph.D. in Anthropology; candidates with degrees in other disciplines should demonstrate their familiarity with anthropological approaches. The Scholar will teach two courses per semester. The USF Department of Anthropology is a national leader in Applied Anthropology, and will give preference to candidates whose research has applied or policy potential.
