Overview
The Romanian-US Fulbright Commission has the pleasure to announce the annual competition for Fulbright Senior postdoctoral grants for Romanian professors, researchers and professionals who have a doctoral degree or equivalent. Grants are available for conducting research at the US institutions and/or lecturing in the U.S. institutions.
Grant Benefits
Fulbright Senior postdoctoral program provides international travel, accident/sickness insurance and a monthly stipend covering accommodation and living expenses.
►Eligible Fields: any field, except clinical medicine;
►Grant duration: minimum 3 months/ maximum 6 months;
►Applicants must meet the following criteria:
•hold Romanian citizenship;
•hold a doctoral degree or equivalent;
•show proficiency in English;
►Each applicant will be required to submit:
•an online application form (https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/scholars);
•a detailed statement of proposed activity for research or lecturing at an American institution;
•three letters of reference from university professors and/or other acknowledged Romanian or foreign professionals;
•a photocopy of the PhD diploma;
►Candidates are strongly encouraged to attach invitation letter(s) from potential US host institution(s).
►Application deadline: November 5th, 2009
Only online applications will be accepted. Official paper copies of letters of recommendation as well as a photocopy of the PhD diploma will be mailed no later than November 5th, 2009 (postmarked), to the Romanian-US Fulbright Commission, Ing. N. Costinescu Street No. 2, 011878, Sector 1, Bucharest.
Incomplete applications lead to the exclusion of the respective candidate from further selection process. Documents will not be returned. Only candidates selected for interviews will be notified.
