Overview
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek invites applications for the Master of Arts in Political Science (Central Asia) Program. The program is a 13-month course work that will start on 30 August 2010. The OSCE, a number of OSCE participating States and academic partner institutions in Central Asia and abroad actively support the activities of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, in particular the hereby-announced Master Program.
The Master of Political Science (Central Asia) program focuses on various issues and approaches in political theory, international relations, regional and international security, conflict prevention, management and resolution, activities of international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in the region, international and regional politics, human rights, and international development.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the following admission criteria:
• Successful completion of an academic degree of higher education (BA, MA, MSc, Specialist) in a related field from a Central Asian or foreign institution of higher education;
• Excellent knowledge of Russian and English;
• Applicants should not be older than 32 years on 1 September 2010;
• Citizenship preferably of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
• Students from other OSCE participating and partner States can be accepted for the Program on a limited basis.
Financing:
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek covers:
• Round trip travel expenses within Central Asia
• Monthly stipend of 150 euros per month
• Housing allowance for non-residents of Bishkek
• Health insurance (except for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan)
• Child allowance and single parent support
Required documents:
• Application Form
• Two Reference Forms (in English or Russian)
• Copies of diplomas, degree certificates or transcripts (scanned if by e-mail)
• 1 digital photo (600x600 pixels, JPEG, max. 240 KB)
Complete applications must be received by April 8, 2010.
