Overview
5 scholarships will provide funding for existing Imperial College staff and students to study or undertake research in Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay or Venezuela in 2010-11.
Applications will be judged on the basis of academic merit and personal statement about the value of the trip to your research. Applications should be for an individual (not a group) to conduct specific research that would not necessarily receive financial support from elsewhere. Priority will be given to applicants looking to further their links with specific institutions and or other researchers in that country; applications with a specific time frame and budget in mind will also be given priority.
Value of the awards
The maximum value of each award is £1000; however candidates can submit a repeat application I subsequent years.

The application deadline is 5pm Friday, 28 May 2010; only current Imperial College staff and students are eligible to apply.

Selection process
The Santander Scholarship committee will meet in early July 2010 to make final decisions; applicants will be notified directly of outcomes.
