Overview
There will be two competitive Departmental scholarships for overseas students, tenable for three years subject to satisfactory progress.
Who can apply?
Any prospective PhD applicant aiming to start their PhD studies in October 2010 and who is liable for overseas fees may apply. Your application will only be considered if
• you have applied by the deadline of March 29th 2010, and
• you have been accepted by our admissions team by May 1st.
You should recognise that it can take up to six weeks between application and acceptance, so please leave enough time. Please see below for application procedure.
What are the scholarships worth?
Each scholarship will be for £10000 for three years, commencing in October 2010.
How do I apply?
Step 1: Make an application to the College (see http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/pgprospectus/howtoapply)
Step 2: Send a copy of your CV and Research statement to phdadmissions@doc.ic.ac.uk together with the number given you by the College application process and clearly state that you wish to be considered for a scholarship.
Note that these two steps must be completed by the deadline March 29th and your email to phdadmissions must have also been acknowledged by us by the deadline.
Step 3: You must have been accepted and be assigned a supervisor by May 1st.
When will the outcome be known?
The decision will be announced before mid June 2010. Final acceptance is subject to satisfactory financial arrangements to cover your full costs and to ATAS clearance by the UK Immiigration Agency.
The decision is final and will take into account previous educational attainment, references, and most importantly your research statement.
