UK: 30 Research Studentships in Renewable/Low Carbon Energy Research, University of Strathclyde

Overview

Study for a PhD at one of Scotland's leading Universities and contribute to this dynamic and fast growing sector

The Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) is an alliance of Scottish Universities engaged in world class energy related research and development. With around 250 academics and 600 researchers, it is one of the largest, most broad-based power and energy research partnerships in Europe.

ETP is delighted to announce investment in 30 research studentships for talented engineering or physical science graduates to undertake a PhD in renewable/low carbon energy research.

These will be across our key energy research areas, including; wind; marine; solar; bio-energy; energy conversion and storage; energy materials; power systems and networks; built environment/demand side management; carbon capture and storage.

ETP is uniquely placed, through its partnership model, to offer project supervision at one of our universities best able to support the specific technology focus of the project. You will be asked in your initial expression of interest whether you have a preference for a specific energy technology area and/or supervising university department.

This exciting new programme will combine research, training and strong industry involvement to help graduates make the career transition into this rapidly expanding area with a growing demand for well qualified people.

Studentships are available to UK and eligible citizens with (or expected to obtain) an undergraduate 1st / 2.1 or a Masters degree in Physical Science or Engineering.

Studentships will start by October 2010 and will cover fees and maintenance for 3.5years.

For further details on the ETP and to submit your expression of interest, please visit www.etp-scotland.ac.uk
