Overview
We are inviting applications for two studentships in medical statistics, funded for 3 years, by the MRC starting in September 2010. Due to funding restrictions the studentships are open to UK and EU citizens only and cover full tuition fees and a stipend of £15,989.
Project : Relevant, accessible sensitivity analysis for clinical trials with missing data
Project: Sensitivity analysis after multiple imputation by inverse probability weighting.
Supervisors: Dr James Carpenter and Professor Mike Kenward
Eligibility for the Awards:
Due to funding restrictions, the full MRC award is only available to UK residents; other EU nationals may receive an award which covers tuition fees but not a stipend. Please check the eligibility before applying, or visit the MRC website for further details: http://www.mrc.ac.uk/. Applicants must have an MSc (or equivalent) in statistics. Some knowledge of epidemiology and clinical trials is desirable but not essential: an aptitude for applied methodological research in statistics is more important.
Applicants are encouraged to email: James Carpenter (James.Carpenter@lshtm.ac.uk) or telephone: +44 (0) 20 7927 2033 +44 (0) 20 7927 2033 for an informal discussion prior to application.
