Funding for Study, Lecturing or Research in the US
Call for applications
Each year the Fulbright Commission awards scholarships to Irish citizens and or EU citizens resident in Ireland for 3 years or more for post-graduate study, research and teaching in the United States and for US citizens for post-graduate study, research study, research and teaching in Ireland.
Fulbright grants which include a monetary award, visa administration, accident and emergency insurance and cultural and professional programs are selected through an open and merit-based competition and final approval by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in Washington, DC.
Students are applicants who intend to enrol on a US Masters or PhD degree program or conduct independent research (minimum 6 months) as part of an Irish or European PhD program. The awards are only available for one academic year but students may remain in the US for the full duration of their academic program if it is greater than the year.
Scholar Awards are for post-doctoral researchers and academics or professionals with more than 5-7 years experience in any discipline including the visual and performing arts to spend 3-12 months researching and or lecturing in the US.
