American Center for Mongolian Studies Fellowship Programs 2010

Overview

The American Center for Mongolian Studies provides several funding and study opportunities for students and scholars. This year we are pleased to announce a new grant program for faculty research in Mongolia, the ACMS Faculty Research Fellowship, and the continuation of our other fellowship programs. Application deadlines are March 1, 2010 for all fellowship programs, and previous experience in Mongolia is not required for any awards. ACMS Research Fellowship Program

Funding support provided by the Henry Luce Foundation

The ACMS Research Fellowship Program supports doctoral dissertation or post-doctoral field research in Mongolia on topics in the Social Sciences or Humanities. Fellowships support 6-12 month research programs, and awards include travel expenses to and from Mongolia, an accommodation and food allowance, and a stipend to cover research expenses. Awards will be adjusted based on the length of time spent conducting research in the region with a maximum award of $27,000 per fellow. US-Mongolia Field Research Fellowship Program

Funding support provided by the Department of State Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau

The ACMS US-Mongolia Field Research Fellowship Program offers short-term research grants to undergraduate or graduate students in all fields of study. Research projects must be conducted on site in Mongolia in summer or fall 2010. Awards of up to $3000 per fellow are available.

ACMS Faculty Research Fellowship *New Program for 2010!*

Funding support provided by the Department of State Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau

The ACMS is pleased to announce a new fellowship program for faculty members from US colleges and universities. The fellowship offers up to $2500 per faculty member to support field research and studies conducted in Mongolia between May and October 2010. Research projects in all fields of study will be considered. The program priority is to support faculty from non-research intensive universities and colleges, especially faculty who are helping guide student research projects or who can show how the experience will enhance their teaching and outreach. The funding is intended to serve as a catalyst and may be used in conjunction with funds from other sources. More information and application materials available at www.mongoliacenter.org/faculty

ACMS Language Program Fellowship

Funding support provided by the US Department of Education

Applicants for the ACMS Intensive Mongolian Language Program are eligible for the Language Program Fellowship of up to $3000, including a $2000 tuition waiver and $1000 travel and living stipend. More information and application materials available at www.mongoliacenter.org/language
