Overview
The Hertie School of Governance – located in Berlin, Germany – offers a two-year programme taught exclusively in English and resulting in the academic degree MASTER OF PUBLIC POLICY (MPP).
At a time when the international system is undergoing profound changes, the objective of the Hertie School of Governance is to enable gifted and intellectually curious graduates to face these challenges. The goal is to prepare students for decision-making positions within the public, private, and civil society sectors.
Reasons to join the MPP-programme at the Hertie School of Governance:
• The programme combines a multidisciplinary approach of social sciences, economics, and legal studies with a problem-solving orientation.
• An international faculty committed to matching academic excellence with practical experience.
• A promising career path: high-quality internships at the national and international level and – for selected students – the opportunity to spend a professional year at a prestigious institution as part of their studies.
• A competitive student-faculty-ratio and innovative teaching methods.
• An international network of high-level academic partnership
• International exchange programmes with high-profile public policy schools, including the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University (New York / USA), GPPI at Georgetown University (Washington / USA), the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University (North Carolina / USA), the School of Public Policy & Management at Tsinghua University (Beijing / China), the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Tokyo (Japan) and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore).
• As well as dual degree programmes giving students the opportunity to obtain two degreees: our partners within the dual degree programme are the London School of Economics and Political Science (U.K.), SciencesPo (Paris / France), and SIPA at Columbia University (New York / USA).
• Central Berlin location offers a global perspective from the vibrant heart of Europe.
