Overview
The Project: A PhD studentship is available in the Manchester Electrochemistry group, led by Professor Robert Dryfe.
The project will primarily involve the growth, structural characterization and analysis of a variety of carbons with specific applications in energy storage. The stipend given below may be enhanced by a CASE contribution from an industrial collaborator.
Qualifications
Applicants should have or expect a good (I or II(i)) honours degree (or an equivalent degree) in Chemistry.
Funding
Standard EPSRC funding rate for 42 months. The studentship will cover tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and provide a tax-free stipend of approximately £13,500 for 2010/11. Eligibility restricted to UK/EU applicants with 3 years residency in the UK.
