Overview
Applications are invited from veterinary graduates to undertake a PhD in one of the leading laboratories within the EBRC. The latter consists of the R(D)SVS, The Roslin Institute, Moredun Research Institute and the Scottish Agricultural College and forms one of the largest groups focused on the biology of companion and production animals in the world. It undertakes basic and translational science to tackle pressing issues in animal health and welfare. This scholarship will provide a unique opportunity for the top candidate to select a PhD project within one of the following research areas: animal infection and immunity, genetics/genomics, development and health and welfare based within the EBRC.
It is envisaged that opportunities will arise for the student to present project data at scientific meetings and through publication in scientific journals.
Our PhD students are encouraged to take advantage of the University’s comprehensive transferable skills programme.
Application requirements
Applications must include a CV, a detailed statement of interest in research and the contact details of three referees. Eligible candidates must possess a veterinary degree and be a UK or EU citizen. For further information on eligibility please see
http://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/postgraduate/fees-finance/fee-status.
