PhD fellowship in Chromatin & Replication at BRIC, University of Copenhagen

Overview

A 3-year position as an early stage researcher (ESR) is available for a highly motivated PhD fellow in the Groth Group.

The ESR will work within the framework the Marie Curie Initial Training Network Nucleosome4D, providing state of the art training and networking opportunities. Nucleosome4D involves 14 organizations from different countries carrying out multidisciplinary collaborative research projects focused on deciphering nucleosome structure and function across biological space and time.

Program Description

Our group is working on chromatin maintenance and DNA replication. The ERS will be part of a team focused on identification and characterization of new molecular mechanisms in chromatin replication important for securing genetic & epigenetic stability. The project will involve advanced approaches like high-throughput siRNA screening, multi-protein complex purification, ChIP analysis and confocal microscopy, as wells as standard biochemical and cell biological techniques.

The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. BRIC is located close to the heart of Copenhagen, in Copenhagen Biocenter. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a young, dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 16 research groups at BRIC.

We have weekly journal clubs, data clubs and seminars with invited speakers. BRIC runs its own researcher school, MoMeD, and the successful applicant will be part of MoMeD with a supervisor and a co-supervisor.
