Overview
The Technology Centre AIMEN was set up in 1967 as a non-profit research private association by a group of Galician companies in order to increase the level of competitiveness in the local industry. Located in Porriño, in northwest Spain, the Technology Centre AIMEN provides technological services to industry all over Europe. We additionally engage in various research and development activities, with a number of research focal points including:
- Joining and Cutting Processes
- Laser technologies
- Forming Processes
- Development of high performance materials
- Life cycle improvement of tools and components
- Inspection and Non Destructive Testing
Description
PhD: Physics, Chemistry or Materials Engineering
Interested candidates should possess a solid track record in R&D activities on an international level.
Expected skills:
• Post-doctoral experience of 8 years in research project management of materials.
• Technical know-how on welding.
• Knowledge of fracture mechanics, Ni based alloys, composite materials.
• Knowledge of materials chemical analysis.
• Participation in research projects at European level;
• High impact publication record and patents (within this field) is also an asset.
• Competencies: leadership, working with others and communication.
Main functions:
• Participation in R&D projects in the field of materials.
• Follow-up of new technologies developed at international level.
• Analyse future research lines.
• R&D project management, both at European and national level.
• Technology and scientific support to the industrial sector.
• Definition and evaluation of new investments.

The Marie Curie Actions we are willing to take part in are briefly described next:
Intra-European Fellowships for Career Development (IEF)
This action aims at supporting experienced researchers at various stages of their career, helping them in acquiring new skills (multi or interdisciplinary) and/or to undertake inter-sectoral experiences.
International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)
This action aims to attract top-class experienced researchers from third countries to work and undertake research and transfer of knowledge in Europe for 1 to 2 years (incoming phase), with a view to developing mutually-beneficial research co-operation.
