Overview
Provides opportunities for Egyptian post-graduate students to pursue Ph.D. degrees in selected scientific fields at universities in the United States.
ELIGIBLE FIELDS:
- Desalination and Water resources
- Food and Agriculture
-Information and Communication Technology
- Life Sciences
- New and Renewable Energy
- Space Technology and Applications
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Egyptian citizenship (Holders of U.S. immigrant visas or nationality shall be excluded.)
- Master’s degree in a relevant specialization
- Minimum Institutional (Local-ITP) TOEFL score of 580 from AMIDEAST Egypt or any of the ETS approved centers listed below, or its iBt (92) or IELTS (6.5-7) equivalent
Affiliation with an Egyptian national university, including Al Azhar University, or a research institution supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education.
All program activities shall be governed by J. William Fulbright policies and Law of Missions #112
GRANT BENEFITS:
- Travel allowance
- Tuition
- Stipend for up to 36 months
- Health and accident coverage
- Books and equipment allowance
- Professional conference allowance
Note: Grantees are eligible to apply for additional research funding. A maximum of one additional year of study, if necessary for the completion of the Ph.D. degree, shall be defrayed by the student’s host institution or by other sources to be identified by the student and/or the Commission. If no other sources are identified, the additional year of study shall be funded through the program by the Ministry of Higher Education.
