• Direct payment of tuition fees (at either the standard UK/EU rate or International rate)
• Maintenance allowance for accommodation and living expenses of £11, 000 per annum.
Please note: it is not a requirement of these awards that successful award holders undertake teaching for their department. Teaching may be available and if an award holder is paid for teaching it will be in addition to the maintenance allowance.
The awards will be made for MPhil/PhD/EdD study in the following departments
• Arab and Islamic Studies
• Education
• Law
• Politics
• Sociology and Philosophy
These awards are not open to candidates studying on our DEdPsy programmes or on the first year of the 4 year PhD programme.
Current MPhil/PhD/EdD students and those in the 2nd year onwards of our 4 year PhD programme are eligible to apply.
The studentships and bursaries are open to full-time and part-time students from the UK/EU and overseas who are studying for programmes in one of the departments listed above in 2011/12. These awards are open to students studying at both the Streatham and St Luke’s Campuses in Exeter, and at our Tremough Campus in Cornwall.
For part-time students the payments will be on a pro-rata basis.
The awards will only be made to those applicants who go on to enrol within one of the Departments listed above in October 2011. Awards are payable in instalments on enrolment and continued payment of the studentship is subject to satisfactory annual progression.
