Brunel Business School provides a research intensive, innovative and forward-looking environment to educate managers in meeting the needs of contemporary complex organisations. As a result of our success in the latest national Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and as part of our strategic investment towards the next national research evaluation (REF), we are offering a number of PhD studentships that present a wealth of opportunities for committed, intelligent and enthusiastic individuals. The School's PhD programme is accredited by edAMBA.
PhD Studentships
Applications are invited from suitable candidates from the UK or other EU countries for Research Studentships related to the following research area:
CIBSEM, Centre in International Business and Strategy in Emerging Markets
Research Topics:
International and National Licensing by technology-based firms
Financing of Internationalisation by SMEs
Strategic Trade Policy
Technology strategy and Internationalisation
Research Leader: Dr Suma Athreye (Suma.Athreye@brunel.ac.uk)
Start date: up to January 2010.
You will have at least a 2.1 class degree and ideally a Masters degree in a relevant discipline. The terms of the bursary are the full payment of Home/EU fees for a maximum of three years, and £13,290 per year, subject to annual review and satisfactory progress. You will be required to engage in teaching activities including preparation, marking time and invigilation for up to 150 hours per academic year, as part of the university's graduate teaching assistants' (GTA) programme, for which training will be provided.
Closing date for applications: 30 October 2009.
You should send your curriculum vitae, completed application form (obtainable from www.brunel.ac.uk/3551/GS-Docs/AR3.pdf), a one-page outline of a possible research topic, and the names and addresses of two referees (at least one academic), all in electronic form by email to:
