Overview
The Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri (Italy) is a foundation established in 2004 as a joint initiative of the Compagnia di San Paolo and the University of Torino. Its mission is to foster research and teaching in economics, finance, and political science, and it shares the values and best practices of the international academic community. Detailed information on the Collegio can be found at www.carloalberto.org
Description and Eligibility
Visiting Research fellowships are being offered to Ph.D.-holding junior and senior scholars for a period varying in duration from a minimum of one month to a maximum of twelve months, to begin during the solar year 2010. Scholars who have not received a Visiting Research fellowship in the previous five years are especially encouraged to apply.
Features
Visiting Fellows are expected to fully contribute to the exciting research life of the Collegio, by being at the Collegio full-time, focusing on their research projects, interacting with the scholars of the Collegio, and attending seminars and lectures at the Collegio. The fellowship does not carry any teaching or administrative responsibilities. However, if a visiting Fellow is interested in teaching a mini course or a seminar course, this can be arranged by a mutual agreement.
Recipients are offered the possibility of carrying out research on a subject of their choosing within the field of economics, finance, political science, and statistics in an environment that enables them to interact on a daily basis with faculty, research staff, and students. Individual offices are furnished with the latest in technical equipment. If they wish, visiting Fellows may carry out their research in close collaboration with one of the Research Units of the Collegio.
Amount of fellowship
The amount of each fellowship will depend on a candidate’s curriculum and on the available budget. The Collegio will also cover the cost of an economy round-trip ticket from the place of residence of the visiting Fellow, and will provide logistical assistance in finding accommodation in Torino during the period of stay.
Application Procedures and Deadlines
Interested candidates must submit their applications through the Collegio’s web site
www.carloalberto.org/vf_call
and including
• a curriculum vitae;
• a brief (1-2 page) research proposal, indicating the requested period of the visit at the Collegio.
Deadlines: April 30, 2010.
A committee will make the selection and notify candidates of the result no later than May 10, 2010.
