UK: The University of the Arts London International Graduate Scholarships for foreign Students

Overview

The University of the Arts London International Graduate Scholarships aim to promote postgraduate study at each of the six Colleges of University of the Arts London. These awards will be offered to international students (this excludes EU students) with the ability and potential to make an exceptional contribution to the worlds of art, design, communication and performance. We encourage applications from those who feel they will benefit from further study to realise their full potential. The International Graduate Scholarships are only applicable to sucessful applicants in the 2010/2011 academic year.

The scholarships will be awarded to carefully selected students accepted to study on one of the designated MA programmes at the University of the Arts London, for enrolment in academic year 2010/2011. Further conditions are detailed below:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a University of the Arts London International Graduate Scholarship, applicants must be:

accepted for a full-time MA from the designated list, at one of the six Colleges of University of the Arts London.

AND be an undergraduate student expecting to graduate with a good bachelors degree (with Honours) from a Higher Education institution by 31 July 2010.

OR be a graduate, having already gained a good bachelors degree from a Higher
Education institution

OR (for applicants without a bachelors degree) be able to demonstrate substantial equivalent and applicable experience.

Terms of the Scholarships

Each International Graduate Scholarship is worth the tuition fees of the selected course. Tuition fees will be paid directly to the University. Successful candidates must bring their award letter to enrolment.

Applicants must enrol on their programme in the same academic year for which they have applied for funding. If any applicant is unable to do this for any reason, the scholarship will be withdrawn.

Requirements of Scholarship Holders

Scholarship holders are expected to attend all timetabled classes and tutorials, excepting periods of absence due to illness. Attendance will be monitored and any student with an unacceptable attendance record risks termination of their Scholarship.

Award holders are expected to attend a small number of College and University events where scholarship support to potential donors will be promoted. Such events may occur during and/or after completion of the award holder’s course.

The University will terminate the award if registration lapses on any grounds, other than temporary suspension of study due to extenuating circumstances. These circumstances must be drawn to the attention of the relevant course director through formal procedures and upheld by the College Extenuating Circumstances Panel.
