USA: Post-Doctoral Fellowship funded by the Dartmouth Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence

Overview

A Post-doctoral Fellowship is available for up to five years on the production and characterization of iron/iron oxide core/shell nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia cancer treatment.

Funding

The position, which starts on September 1st, 2010 or soon thereafter, is funded by the Dartmouth Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence, which supports a large group of researchers working on functionalizing nanoparticles, developing innovative nanoparticle imaging technologies, and utilizing the nanoparticles for in vivo magnetic hyperthermia studies.

Eligible candidates

The applicant should preferably have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Materials Science and a background in nanoparticle synthesis by chemical means, magnetic property measurements, and microstructural characterization techniques, including experience in transmission electron microscopy.
