Overview
The Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a researcher to direct the Swallow Physiology research program in the laboratory of Timothy McCulloch, MD. The incumbent will be involved in research design and analysis of swallow physiology using high resolution manometry, videofluoroscopy, electromyography, and endoscopy.
This individual will be responsible for coordinating data collection and data analysis, including training and mentoring student researchers. Further, this position will assist in grant writing in an effort to attract extramural funding. This individual will present data at local, regional and national meetings, independently review literature, and design appropriate research methodologies, techniques and procedures. The incumbent will pursue collaborations with other researchers on the UW campus and co-author research proposals for grant submission as well as manuscripts for presentation and publication. The incumbent will oversee compliance with all Institutional Review Board guidelines for ethical conduct of research.
Eligible candidates
MS or PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Physiology, or related field is required. Relevant lab, research, or clinical experience is also preferred.
