Overview
SABI RESEARCH, PRODUCTION OF IDENTIFICATION KEYS, POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL STUDENT AWARDS
The South African Department of Science & Technology and the National Research Foundation jointly supports the activities of the South African Biosystematics Initiative (SABI). SABI aims to develop a representative community of systematic biologists - well supported by government and society – that addresses exciting and important issues relevant to South Africa's rich biological heritage. SABI’s funding and its activities are therefore focused around four thrusts including research, education and training, public understanding of science, and infrastructure.
This call for applications pertains to the following SABI activities:
· Research Projects
(The application system for research project submissions will open on the 30 June 2010. Applications must be submitted via the NRF’s Interim Solution at http://nrfinterim.nrf.ac.za. Please select the Knowledge Fields Development (KFD) Call under Create New Application.)
· Production of Identification Keys
· Postdoctoral Fellowships
· International Travel Student Awards
(Applications for the above three activities will only be accepted in the required format -see relevant Appendices 6 to 8 - via e-mail or fax from the organisation’s designated authority, e.g. at Universities the designated authority is the research office, to Ms Ndileka Qamba-Mtwazi at email: Ndileka@nrf.ac.za, or fax: 086 541 9538.)
The NRF’s closing date for all applications is 31 August 2010. All applications must be endorsed by the research office of the principal applicant. Incomplete and late submissions will not be accepted.
