Imperial’s Junior Research Fellowships

Overview

Imperial’s Junior Research Fellowships sustain the brightest and best early career researchers from across the world, by providing a level of commitment and support that is rare from a UK university. The scheme is now open for the third year.

108Imperial Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) receive three-year fellowships, which include a competitive salary, research expenses and mentoring support from a senior Imperial academic. This support gives JRFs the freedom to focus on their research, with no obligatory teaching or administration.

Imperial’s JRF scheme was set up in 2008 with the aim of helping researchers make the leap from post-doc to lecturer. It is investing more than £10 million over five years into the scheme, and expects to appoint up to 20 new JRFs to start in the academic year 2011/12. The first Imperial JRFs are coming to the end of Year 1 of their Fellowship. Cohort 2 will be announced in autumn 2010.

Key features of the Imperial JRF scheme

-You can apply to carry out research in all Imperial's key disciplines
-Fellowships are awarded across the College in all Faculties (Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences) as well as the Business School and the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine
-We welcome interdisciplinary proposals
-You can apply from the UK or abroad, from Imperial or other organisations
-You will normally be expected to have up to four years post-doctoral experience when you apply
-You need to identify an Imperial academic staff member to act as your sponsor, who will provide laboratory space, facilities and mentorship throughout your Fellowship
Proposals will be judged primarily on the basis of scientific merit, track record and potential for developing an independent research programme

Eligibility

There are no restrictions on nationality; however you will be required to provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK before commencing any fellowship offered.

Applicants must have an upper second or above undergraduate degree (or equivalent for overseas institutions) with a PhD.

In exceptional cases, applicants applying to the Faculty of Engineering and Imperial College Business School are permitted to apply before the submission of the PhD but any offer of funding will be dependent on the PhD being awarded before the start of the fellowship.

For applications to the Faculties of Natural Sciences and Medicine, a PhD must have been submitted before an application is made and the PhD must be awarded before the start of the fellowship.

Applicants should normally have up to four years postdoctoral research experience - exceptions to this can include discipline hopping, career breaks and career changes. In these cases there must still be less than four years postdoctoral experience in the research area of the proposed fellowship.

The resources are every where but very few take the opportunity to prove themselves as official website are getting low on the online sources so they are now hiring with the impactful skills.

After the presidential race, individuals are not willing to see the trumps as a leader of the USA and here is easy way to get great site for good work. The fundamental reason is that trumps is forceful and did not think about anything and talk against the human right. Individuals of the USA feel terrible and consider the fate of the nation.
