The University of Luxembourg is looking for the newly established Luxembourg Centre of Systems Biomedicine (LCSB)
Junior Researcher (PhD student) in Bioinformatics
Ref. I1R-DIR-PAU-08PBR
Fixed-term contract 3 years, 40h/week renewable once
Student and Employee status
The PhD student will be a member of the highly interdisciplinary research centre, integrating experimental biological and computational biology approaches in order to develop the foundation of a future predicitive, preventive and personalised medicine.
Mission:
Obtain a PhD in Bioinformatics or Systems biology
Work under the supervision of a Professor or a Senior Researcher on a research project
Possible topics for a PhD thesis would be:
Systems biology approach to Parkinson’s disease
Bioinformatics and large scale genome analysing
Reconstruction and Analysing of disease networks
Profile:
Master in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Physics, Applied mathematics, Engineering, Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Neurodegeneration or a related discipline
High interest in research in the area of systems and computational biology, bioinformatics with a special focus on the analysis of disease-related networks.
Excellent working knowledge in English.
