A position as Post Doc at the Protein Design Consortium, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen, is available from October 1st 2010. The position is for 2.5 years and involves the participation in research projects aimed at re-designing enzymes of biopolymer degradation. The Protein Design Consortium is a multidisciplinary forum of researchers from within the areas of bioinformatics, structural biology, microbial genetics and enzymology from both the University of Copenhagen, and the Technical University of Denmark. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph. D. degree and experience within the fields of general molecular biology techniques, heterologues synthesis of proteins in E. coli, protein chemistry and enzymology. Knowledge, particularly within the enzymology of proteases and glycosidases will be considered an advantage.

An assessment committee will evaluate the applications. The applicant will be notified of the composition of the committee. Each applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns her/him. The main criterion for selection will be the research potential of the applicant. In addition experience with the effects of climate change on microbial processes in soil will be an advantage.

Terms of appointment and payment
will be in accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. Post doc salary is based on seniority and is between 383.670 and 407.006 DKK with an annual supplement up to DKK 49.280 before pension contribution. Negotiation for further supplement will be possible.
