Overview
The JDS Program started in 1999 under the Grant Aid assistance provided by the Government of Japan. The main objective of the JDS Program is to support human resource development in each participating country by fostering young government officials who are expected to facilitate the social and economic development of their countries in the 21st century. Another aim is for JDS Fellows, because of their experience in Japan, to contribute to the broadening and enhancement of the foundation for bilateral relations between their countries and Japan.
JDS Fellows are expected to acquire specialist knowledge not only for individual capacity building but also for social capacity building and to engage actively and practically in addressing the social and economic development issues in their countries.
Sub-Programs and Components were determined by corresponding to the target priority issues for the social and economic development of Mongolia. JDS participants under the same Sub-Program/ Component will be accepted in the same university.

Qualification to applyTarget government organizations were set under JDS program in Mongolia. Therefore, the component and the university that you will study in are decided due to the organization which you belong to.
Other qualifications are as followings;
(1) Citizen of Mongolia
(2) Between the age of 22 and 39 as of April 1, 2011
(3) Must be a regular employee who has more than two-years work experience in the target organization.
(Please refer 'Framework of JDS Program of Mongolia' of "Application's Guideline")
(4) Has a bachelor's degree from universities authorized by the Government of Mongolia or other countries.
(5) Has a Basic Mathematics skill except Kyushu University
(6) Has a good command of both written and spoken English.(TOEFL score of 500 or higher is preferred)
(7) Mentally and physically in good health
(8) Has not been awarded or scheduled to receive another scholarship
(9) Has not already taken a master's degree in a foreign country under any kind of scholarship.
(10) Military personnel registered on the active list or person on alternative military service can not apply for JDS.

Recruitment period20th of July to 12th of October, 2010
Please submit all your application documents to supervising authority / your belonging organization according to the deadline set by supervising authority/your belonging organization.
Please do not submit it to JICE project office directly.
