PhD Position in Gas Transportation Economics, Norway

Overview

Molde University College hereby announces a PhD scholarship in Gas Transportation Economics.

We are seeking candidates with a background in business logistics, transport economics, informatics or any other relevant area.

The position is financed by Sparebanken Møre through GassROR IKS, as part of a project on the development of transport infrastructure and onshore facilities for gas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The project will study alternative solutions for adding capacity, flexibility and increasing regularity of the existing infrastructure related to the development of future gas fields. Methodically, the project will include aspects of industrial organization, cost-benefit analyses and real option theory.

Description
Applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent education in logistics, management science or economics, and a strong academic record. Preference is given to candidates with extensive knowledge of microeconomic theory.

The period of employment is four years, including 25 % devoted to required duties for the college. Place of work is Molde. An application should clarify the applicant's motivation for a PhD. Applicants may be invited to undergo an interview as part of the appointment process.

The position will be remunerated at wage level 48 on the Norwegian State salary scale, with gross salary NOK 383 900 a year, of which 2 % is deducted for the Norwegian State Pension Fund. The appointment will be made in accordance with current regulations concerning state employees and guidelines for employment as Research Fellow at universities and university colleges.
