2011 NCED WA PhD Supplementary Scholarship

Overview

The National Centre of Excellence in Desalination (NCED) leads and coordinates Australia’s research in desalination technology. Through the NCED, Australia is building national capacity and capabilities in desalination with a dual focus on breakthrough fundamental and applied research with a goal of delivering meaningful improvements at commercial scale.

Thanks to the generosity of the Western Australian Government, through the Department of Commerce, in 2011 the NCED has available a PhD supplementary scholarship for one outstanding student in desalination or a related field, at each of the four Western Australian‐based universities participating in the NCED: Murdoch University, Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University and The University of Western Australia (WA Participating Organisations).
NCED WA PhD supplementary scholarships will be offered to highly ranked PhD students holding an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) full‐time research leading to the award of a PhD.

Total value of the NCED WA PhD supplementary scholarship will be up to $50,000 (tax exempt) for three years full‐time, with a maximum payable rate of $16,666 per annum.

Applications are invited from doctoral candidates whose area of postgraduate research contributes to the field of desalination and aligns with the NCED’s Research Roadmap: http://desalination.edu.au/research/research‐strategy/. Research candidates from any field of study, with a research project looking at an aspect of desalination, of value to WA, are encouraged to apply.
