Graduate Scholarships in Reproductive and Sexual Health Law, Canada

Overview

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the availability of Graduate Scholarships in Reproductive and Sexual Health Law. These scholarships are made possible through a generous grant from our donors, and are available to students pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) degree within the Faculty’s Graduate Program. These scholarships are designed to permit law graduates who have a demonstrated record in the protection of reproductive and sexual rights to undertake advanced research and study in this emerging field of law.

The Faculty’s graduate program is one of the most prestigious and highly competitive in North America, admitting approximately 75-100 students each year from more than 20 countries around the world. One of the highlights of the graduate program, the International Reproductive and Sexual Health Law Program was established in 1997 by Professors Rebecca Cook and Bernard Dickens. This program enables graduate students to explore the legal and ethical issues in reproductive and sexual health, such as multiple causes of maternal morality; barriers to availability of and access to reproductive health services; the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS; and abusive sexual relationships.
