The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Yaoundé is pleased to announce the annual Fulbright grants competition for academic year 2012-2013. The Fulbright grant categories open for competition are: the African Research Scholar program; the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award; the Junior Staff Development program; the Junior Staff Enhancement Program and the Fulbright Masters Degree Program for Teachers of English to Speakers of other Languages.
The African Senior Research Scholar program provides grants to foreign scholars to conduct post-doctoral research at U.S. institutions. Applicants must have a doctoral degree, at least three years of university teaching experience, and speak English well. Completed applications must be returned by March 31, 2011.
The International Fulbright Science and Technology Program is reserved for doctoral study at prestigious U.S. institutions in science, technology, or engineering for outstanding international students. Fluency in English is required. Completed applications must be returned by February 28, 2011.
The Junior Staff Development Program is open to candidates seeking a Masters or Doctoral degree in all fields but not in medicine. It also offers training in a non-degree research and a non-academic program in culture (music, arts or museum curator), Fluency in English is required. Completed applications must be returned by March 31, 2011.
The Junior Staff Enhancement Program for Francophones is offered to candidates qualified to pursue a master’s degree in the fields of economics, history, information sciences, political science, and public administration but not in business, but who lack adequate English proficiency. Successful candidates undergo intensive English language training before they are enrolled in the program. Completed applications must be returned by March 31, 2011.
Candidates applying for the Master’s Degree Program for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages must have two years of teaching experience teaching English. Completed applications must be returned by March 31, 2011.
