Overview
The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.
The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train students to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animall production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. They will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.
As the result of the selection of the Agris Mundus Master course by the Erasmus Mundus programme, the European Commission provides a number of scholarships. In accordance with the rules of this programme, each of the training tracks involves one year (M1) in one institution, and one year (M2) in a second institution, the two of them being delivered in two different countries of the European Union.
Admission procedure
There are two rounds of admission, depending whether you apply or not for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
1) The first round of selection: starting now! Closed Jan.22nd 2010
Open to all candidates whatever be their nationality, or country they have studied for their BA of BSc.
Candidates may apply for both the academic admission and an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
Candidates can also apply for academic admission only (especially when they already have other sources of scholarship or financial support).
Among the selected 50-80 candidates academically admitted, 15-20 applicants may be awarded with an Erasmus Mundus scholarships (the list of the beneficiaries is published at the same time with the academic admission).
Important! For the first time, European candidates may be awarded with an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, under the condition they apply for the first round.
2) The second round of selection: starting Jan. 22nd 2010 till May 28th.
Open to all candidates, for academic admission only, whatever be their nationality or country they have studied for their BA of BSc.
Important! No scholarship awarded at the second round of admission.
3) Academic admission It refers to the right to follow the course, after a review of the academic background and professional project of the applicant. Candidates may be admitted even though they are not selected for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
Important! Being selected for admission or for a scholarship does not mean that you are fully admitted or that you will be definitely awarded with a scholarship. Conditions like your performance in English or Spanish will be checked after the selections rounds mentioned above and may lead to rejection of your selection. Candidates are not allowed to apply to more than 3 Erasmus Mundus master courses for the same academic year.
4) Whatever the round of selection you intend to address:
Information can be given by email by the Agris Mundus secretariat to check your eligibility: just send the application form (.pdf or .doc only) + CV (in a single zip file).
Full application file should be sent by air mail only with signed application form, CV, photos, photocopies of degrees, academic references, passport copy, motivation letter, 2 recommendations letters.
5) Publication of the results: The results of the selection by the Agris Mundus consortium will be published on the website:
March 5, 2010 for the first round of admission
June 17, 2010 for the second round of admission

•Bachelor of Sciences (180 ECTS) in a field related to agricultural development or a BA in the Social Sciences or equivalent
•Verified excellent quality of the institution where this first degree was obtained
•Excellent academic background with marks identifying the candidate among the 20% best students of his former studies (BSc or BA degree with honours 1st class or 2nd class minimum)
•Strongly convincing letter of motivation
•2 letters of support from referees.
•Bachelor of Sciences (180 ECTS) in a field related to agricultural development or a BA in the Social Sciences or equivalent

Only candidates who are able to show evidence of a very good level and well-constructed motivation have a chance to be admitted. Preference will be given to candidates with appropriate professional experience and strongly convincing recommendations by an academic or a professional body. Candidates who cannot show evidence of such criteria are invited to refrain from applying.
Choice of the training tracks
The candidate is invited to select the training track he/she applies for. Once the admission being official, the candidate has to follow the choosen study tracks. Changes remain possible once the student has started the course, only upon agreement with the coordinator and the tutors in charge of the M1 and the M2.
Language test
Important! The candidate is selected, she/he will be asked to produce a certificate in the language of his chosen M1 training. When a candidate fails to produce a successful language test before arrival, her/his admission will be cancelled.
•IELTS 6 in English for all training tracks starting with an M1 in Cork, Copenhagen or Wageningen; selected candidates are required to pass this language test and send it to the Agris Mundus secretariat before May 15, 2009, otherwise the scholarship offered may be cancelled.

How to apply, what are the eligible criteria?
1.Download the application form below and get prepared to send it with copies of the diploma, CV, academic transcripts, letter of motivation and letters of recommendation.
2.Deadline for application:
- January 22th, 2010 for Category A Scholarships and Admissions
- May 28th, 2010 for Category B Admissions (no EM scholarships)
3.An electronic submission procedure will be open on December 10, 2009 on this website. This procedure will allow you to upload all required documentation into the
application system. However, for the first round 2010, sending applications by air mail to the Agris Mundus secretariat will still be possible. However, candidates are encouraged to apply on line rather than by air mail when their access to the internet allows them to do so.
Electronic applications are more secure : you are sure your application has been re-ceived on time, and you get a receipt for this.
In the case of applications sent by air mail, they have to reach the secretariat before the deadline. Delays due to the airmail may be possible and can lead to the rejection of your application when it arrives after the deadline!
