The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine are seeking to recruit up to two Academic Fellowships with a research interest and strong track record in the following area:

Translational Cancer Research and Drug Discovery

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the development of cancer-related drug discovery projects and translational medicine. You will work alongside scientists and clinicians in the Cancer Research UK Edinburgh Centre, and the emerging University of Edinburgh Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, which brings together around 500 scientists and research active clinicians at the Western General Hospital campus. Ref: 3012130TH.

With a proven record of academic excellence, you should have a PhD or equivalent experience and should not hold a permanent position in academia in the UK. Preference will be given to candidates who have a record in applying for, and being successful in, obtaining research funding. Fellowship terms and conditions are as defined in the RCUK Academic Fellowships scheme. Each Fellowship is for a period of five years, and is intended to lead to a permanent academic appointment. Each is an ideal post for a motivated, early career researcher, and will allow a focus on research without teaching duties in the early years after appointment.

Benefits include generous holiday entitlement plus 9 public holidays, final salary pension and a wide variety of staff discounts including gym membership.
