Overview
The Turkish Cultural Foundation Fellowship Program was established in 2007 to provide support to students, researchers and scholars who have an interest in the art and culture of Turkey and studies related to the preservation of Turkey’s artistic and cultural heritage.
The mission of the TCF Fellowship Program is also to recognize and assist scholars, whose academic achievements and research reflect the commitment of the Turkish Cultural Foundation to disseminating knowledge about Turkey’s cultural heritage.
Value of each award
The TCF Fellowship Program will award per year:
10 Fellowships: USD 10,000 at the Ph.D. level
5 Fellowships: USD 15,000 at the Post-doctoral level
Recipients are selected by the Turkish Cultural Foundation.
Application Requirements
Applicants for the TCF Fellowship must be scholars, who are pursuing a Ph.D. degree in a related field or have completed their Ph.D. or equivalent degree less than 10 years before their application.
Candidates must be fluent in English, although the dissertations or the publications resulting from the fellowship research do not have to be in that language.
Applicants are required to submit official evidence of English language proficiency. Exemptions to providing official certification for English proficiency are made for applicants who speak English as their native language and, on a case-by-case basis, for scholars who have previously published in English or study at an English-language institution. Required scores for language certification are: TOEFL PBT 550, TOEFL CBT 213, TOEFL IBT 79, and IELTS 7.0.
Academic standing, scholastic achievement, scholarly qualifications, publications, experience, and letters of reference will be weighed into the selection.
