Our vibrant, modern University has ambitious plans for its future. Our two main campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford are being transformed with major capital investments. With an annual income of £139m, 28,000 students and 2,100 staff, we are a major force for higher education in the East of England.
We have achieved world class and international levels of research activity in the field of vision and eye research, as recognised by the recent RAE 2008 exercise. We now intend to consolidate this work through the Vision and Eye Research Unit (VERU) based within the Postgraduate Medical Institute. The VERU builds on existing research across various research groups within Anglia Ruskin University and has potential to further develop existing opportunities in research areas including glaucoma, myopia, low vision, anterior eye disorders, contact lenses, amblyopia and children’s vision.
Fixed term contract for up to one year in the first instance
Salary: £29,704 - £34,435 p.a.
We are seeking two motivated individuals to work in any of the above research areas within the newly formed Vision and Eye Research Unit. With a PhD in Optometry or a related discipline, you will ideally have experience of clinical data collection, inferential statistics, Matlab programming, publication/conference profile. General Optical Council registration would be advantageous.
