Overview
The Wiles Lectures for 2010 are to be given by Professor David Armitage (Harvard) on ‘Civil War from Rome to Iraq: A History in Ideas’. The lectures will take place on successive evenings from Tuesday 18 May 2010 to Friday 21 May 2010 and each lecture will be followed by a seminar discussion involving invited guests who are experts in the field.
Further details of Professor Armitage's lectures will be posted on this site later in the year.
The Wiles Trustees are pleased to be able to offer this year a bursary (in honour of the late Professor Peter Jupp) to cover the attendance of a final year PhD student, or one who has recently completed a doctorate. The bursary will cover all travel and accommodation costs. The holder of the bursary will be expected to attend the lectures and contribute to the discussions
