Full-time, fixed-term appointment as PhD Research Fellow in information systems for a period of three years, at the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Program Description
The University of Agder invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term appointment as PhD Research Fellow in information systems for a period of three years, at the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. The project is funded through grants from Sørlandets Kompetansefond and Vest-Agder County Administration.
The position is located in Kristiansand, Norway.
The dissertation topic should fall within the area “Use of information systems in the wood-based building industry”. The PhD project requires the candidate to be fluent in a Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish or Danish).
The applicants must qualify for admission to the PhD Programme in Information Systems, and must hold a master’s degree in information systems, information technology or a related field. Education and/or experience from wood-based building industry is also an advantage.

The position places great demands on the applicants’ capacity for independent goal-oriented work, ability to concentrate and attention to detail. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic background and results, and any previous research and development work. Relevant practical experience, personal suitability and good teamwork skills will also be emphasised. The University, on its side, is committed to securing good supervision for the successful applicants. Short-listed applicants may be invited for interviews.
Applicants must submit a project proposal whose scope lies within the abovementioned areas of priority. The project proposal should comprise a maximum of ten pages in length, including the reference list. The proposal must contain a preliminary presentation of the problematic approach, theoretical foundation, methodological approach and planned progression for the doctoral project. The quality of the project proposal will receive a high level of consideration during the application assessment process.

The position is remunerated within the State salary scale, salary plan 17.515, code 1017, salary grade 45. A 2 % compulsory pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from the pay according to current statutory provisions.
