Postdoc researcher Healthy Ageing, Population and Society, Netherlands

Overview

Healthy Ageing, Population and Society (HAPS) is an inter-faculty research programme, a collaboration of the Dept of Demography, Faculty of Spatial Sciences; the Dept of Epidemiology, Faculty of Medical Sciences / University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG); and the Dept of Sociology, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. The research programme adopts an interdisciplinary and multi-level approach to healthy ageing, has a strong theoretical-basis and applies both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Both academic oriented research and research-for-society is conducted. More information can be found at http://www.rug.nl/HAPS . At each participating department is one Postdoc researcher fully dedicated to the HAPS programme. These researchers work closely together in the field of Healthy Ageing: Population and Society, and spend 80-90% of their time on research: - conduct own research and publish on it - develop the research programme together and with other senior and PhD researchers - coordinate different joint research related activities (workshops, e.g.) - write proposals for funding agencies spend 10-20% on teaching: - (parts of) relevant courses Currently we are looking for a Postdoc researcher at the Department of Epidemiology, Faculty of Medical Sciences / University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG).

Target candidate

We are looking for an experienced researcher who: - has a PhD in the field of epidemiology or related discipline - has published internationally - has affinity with multidisciplinary research - is able to collaborate closely with the two other HAPS Postdoc researchers based in the other faculties, and other senior and PhD researchers in HAPS - is able to organize and coordinate research activities - is pro-active, i.e. have innovative ideas and can formulate proposals for funding.


Benefits
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month € 3.860,- (scale 10) Employment basis: Full time, temporary for Five years Employment according to the CAO of UMC. The university/UMCG provides a career advisory service for partners of new staff who move to Groningen.
