Overview
Fulbright Post-Doctoral Research Grants offer Yemeni scholars the opportunity of using a U.S. university's research facilities, libraries and laboratories to conduct individual research and/or develop a particular research project. Grants are usually from six to nine months. Preference is given to candidates who have not received their Ph.D. degrees from a U.S. university and/or conducted research for six months or more, during the past five years, in the U.S.
All applications are reviewed by a bi-national review committee comprised of U.S. officials and scholars in the field of specialization of the applicants. The review criteria include the quality of the research plan, appropriateness of academic background and adequacy of language ability. Applicants selected for an award will be nominated for affiliation with an appropriate U.S. institution.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Yemeni citizenship
2. Doctoral degree or its equivalent.
3. Speak and understand English with enough facility to carry out proposed research.
Holders of U.S. green cards/passports are not eligible for Fulbright grants.
Fulbright grants do not cover dependent travel costs.
