Excellent Opportunity for science and engineering graduates to commence their research career in a world leading research organisation. The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) has a unique multidisciplinary focus with leading edge researchers working at the interface of the biological, chemical and physical sciences.
The Institute has research programs aimed at developing new products, processes and devices for improving human health and quality of life.
In addition to AIBN’s commitment to research excellence, there is a strong culture of commercialisation and excellent links with local and international industries, providing exciting collaborative opportunities. AIBN is seeking motivated, high quality science or engineering graduates to undertake PhD studies with one of the AIBN’s 17 Group Leaders.
The Role: Students will be supervised by researchers globally acknowledged as leaders in their areas and have access to state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and resources. Additionally, opportunities exist for students to undertake commercialisation training while undertaking their research studies.
The Person: Successful applicants should possess a fi rst class honours degree in engineering or science, coupled with a desire to pursue a career in research.
Remuneration: Students are required to apply for a living allowance scholarship from The University of Queensland. Successful applicants will then have their scholarships ‘topped up’ to $25,000 per annum tax free. This is a full-time scholarship for three years with the possibility of a six month extension in approved circumstances.
