Greetings!
It is my special pleasure to send this application for the L. Marie Heard Education Scholarship Program to you. Our program was initiated through a bequest from L. Marie Heard. Ms. Heard was a life long advocate for education and would be pleased that her gifts are enabling individuals, like you, to continue their academic pursuits.
In 2010, the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias will grant up to $10,000 in educational scholarships to deserving students. These educational scholarships can be used at institutions of higher learning, (both undergraduate and graduate programs), junior colleges or trade/technology schools. These funds can either be used for your school tuition and/or fees. The application is self-explanatory; however, I want to remind you to make certain that you meet each of the requirements listed on the first page of the enclosed form. Also remember that all applications must be postmarked by March 12. Faxes or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Attention High School Seniors
The NFED has a tradition of featuring high school graduating seniors in the Summer issue of our newsletter, The EDucator. The issue includes brief biographies and photos of our high school graduates. Our readers are always delighted and impressed by the interests and accomplishments of those students who participate. As such, we would like to feature you in our newsletter. I am hopeful that you will respond to my invitation to participate by returning the enclosed form, 2010 Graduate Biographical Information for The EDucator, and a recent photograph to our office by February 26. Knowing that this type of thing can be forgotten between now and then, I would encourage you to respond as soon as possible. Your participation will not only bring personal satisfaction to you, it will serve as positive reinforcement for families of small children.
All of us here look forward to hearing from you. We are truly interested in what you are doing. I congratulate you on your efforts thus far and wish you the very best as you continue working toward your career goals.
Most sincerely,
Mary Kaye Richter
Executive Director
